Methadone for fibro
1 Replies
Sage - April 25

Does anyone else take Methadone in liquid form for the pain from fibromyalgia. I have had this disease 11years only diagnosed 6 yrs ago. Pain management started me on 5mg pills and they did nothing. Now I'm taking 65mg and i feel better then when i was on 175mcg of fentenyl. Am I the only one who feels this is a miracle drug?

hi sage,
i believe methadone is the best and most reasonable narcotic for fibromyalgia. a doctor that was seeing me said that it was the only choice for treating chronic long term pain. this man, i adore him, is old and has had decades of experience as a doctor, not just pain control. until they can come up with something that really fixes the problem, for those of us who do not develop problems with addiction and abuse, doctors should be providing us with the relief that narcotics give. doctors need to educate their patients about these drugs but they aren't willing to do that. the pain destroys lives. it breaks up families, it can lead to financial destitution. worst of all, suicide. they are not paying attention to what is happening to the women in this country. this is an epidemic crisis in our country and they just don't give a damn. and we are too sick to fight them.
