Does anyone still believe in GOD?

There is no reason for anyone to get insulted on here.

Noca, hesmyeverything was trying to express her views on God and I don't know why anyone would be insulted by someone saying that they'll pray for you.

It's kind of like saying "Merry Christmas", does that insult you because you don't believe in God? Since Christmas represents the birth for Christ and given your openness about hating God.

None of the comments on here were meant to insult merely to bring attention to important facts for and against the notion of believing in God.

You are more than entitled to feel the way you do and express it, but you can't expect people who believe in God to not express how they feel on a thread dedicated to God. But that doesn't mean they are "pushing" their views on you. If you don't believe in God, don't follow this thread and you won't be insulted.

I have always believed in him. Now more than ever. I hope my story gets you believing again. I've been diagnosed with fibro. I've been feeling the symptoms for over a year and a half. Dr. just told me this might be what I have. Anyway, she scheduled an appointment with a rheumy for Nov. 19th of this year. On the 14th of Nov. I was very nauseous and began to bruise very easily. On the 16th I went to see the Doctor and she was very worried about what she was seeing. She scheduled an appointment with an oncologist/hematologist on Nov. 23.
On the 17th, a friend insisted I see the doctor again. I replied by telling her I've got appointments coming up, that everything would be ok. Again, she would not give up and told me she had a hematologist friend across the border. She offered to take me and would not take no for an answer. Well, who in the world has a hematologist friend? That alone was a little miracle. I agreed to go. When we arrived, she drew blood and told me I needed to be hospitalized immediately. My platelet count was at 15. (Normal is 150-350) She explained what could happen to me if I didn't seek immediate help. I could die. My friend and I rush back to the states and by the time I'm admitted my levels have dropped to a 6. I receive a platelet transfusion that night. The next morning, my platelet count was down to a 2. Scary. After being in the hospital for 4 days, my platelet count is up to 135. The Lord sent an angel and intervened. I'm here. Of course, I still have my pain, my shallow breathing, but I'm here. I'm here to shout to the world that the Lord is with us always. That night at the hospital I could have asked, "Why me?" But, I said to him, "If you need me now Lord, then take me, but I'm not ready yet."
Don't ever give up on him. He's all we have. I will pray for you.

What a great and uplifting story. Love it when god sends angels, JUST when we need them. Although we have to realize that he could have chosen to take you home with him, but he obviously has a purpose for keeping you here, probably part of it is, you sharing that beautiful story with us.Sounds like you prayed "your will, not thine", and that is what he did. So glad you're on the road to recovery, and thanks again for sharing it with us here. Happy thanksgiving.

I don't know if you still check this thread or not but I saw it & I thought, this is a serious problem I'm also going through. I often think that God is angry with me. I can't help it. Every time I feel I've gotten control of a new pain, something else comes up. Usually even more painful!!!! I have no one to talk to about it, since I don't know anyone who has it, & my family cannot understand!

sschwaller, I'm so sorry you're going through all this pain. I can totally understand, and myself have experienced the lack of god's presence, when i'm going through all of this.

the best example i can give, is my associate pastor at church, she is 83 yrs old, both breasts removed due to breast cancer, she has lost her husband, and a few years ago her daughter died (her daughter was her sole support when her husband died), her barn has burned down, she has vertigo (dizzy all the time)terrible arthritis, and most recently a brain tumor (not cancerous), but is causing her to lose her hearing (completely deaf in one ear). You won't find a service, when she doesn't hoot and holler, and praise the lord. When the barn burned down, she looked outside, and praised the lord, cause the direction of the wind, took the flames away from her house and the house was spared. Now THAT takes some kind of faith in our lord. She has been an inspiration to countless numbers of people, and she would tell you that god used her to help others. She never questions why her, she says "why not me". She is a wonderful woman, and i love her dearly. She has served the lord for over 69 years, and there is NO reason for him to be mad at her, and he didn't cause all these things to happen to her, but he did allow them, so that she could help others through her sicknesses.

For me, i look forward to heaven, where there is no sadness, NO pain, no sorrow, and to be honest, if everything were perfect here on earth, and we had no sorrow, no pain, no sickness, everything went our way, WHAT is there to look forward to? We would be able to appreciate heaven when we get there.

As for the pain, i noticed you said, everytime you've gotten control of the pain, a new one comes up. God is the one who has helped you get control of that pain. Try praying to him, that if it's his will, to remove that pain from your life, and BELIEVE that he can do it. He may not do it, but also ask that he help you deal with the pain. God answers EVERY prayer, but sometimes it's yes, sometimes it's no, and sometimes it's wait. His timing is perfect, despite what we think. He already knows how this will turn out, he already knew you were going to post, and he already knew that i would answer it.

Also, ask god to speak to your family, and help them to understand what you're going through.

I will be praying for you,and please keep us updated on how you're doing.

Paul prayed "thrice" for his thorn to be removed, and thrice he was denied. Jesus said, "my grace is sufficent for you" don't give up on God, He loves u and He is the one who is helping you keep your head above water honey. He loves u and He knows our pain, just continue to praise Him. Amen
