Another year...

Hello everyone,
I’m new to this forum and have enjoyed reading what others have had to say. I’ve had Fibro since I was 15, but didn’t actually get diagnosed until I was 18...after they did every test under the sun ruling out things.
Well today is my 24th birthday, and I have been having a horrible spell of pain for the last 2 weeks. Somehow I feel like every year I get older, I seem to get a new symptom or a worsening pain. I’m usually not one to do a whole lot of complaining because it is what it is, however this morning I woke up to really cold snowy weather. In MARCH!! If any of you live someplace cold I’m sure you can feel my pain, literally. Nothin’ like startin out the day with a hot bath and covering myself in icy hot! Well thank you for anyone willing to read my rant...I know things will eventually get better, somethin’s gotta give right?!?!?
I look forward to getting to know all of you, and I hope that you all are having a better day than I am.

Hi KKRenee, happy birthday!!! I live just outside of Toronto Canada so I can definitely relate to your pain. I have just been diagnosed with FMS after three years of testing at first we thought I had developed MS, apparently FMS mimics the same symptoms. I am currently on Lyrica, with the aid of Percocets, and a Fentanol patch for pain relief. Are you on anything for the pain you are suffering from? Well I will sign off for now, and once again I wish you a happy birthday:)! Patty

Happy Birthday! I can completely relate. I have had fibro since I was 16 and am now 37! I have seen tons of doctors, been on a hundred different drugs, and still haven't found anything that works! Some days I wake up and I feel perfectly fine - no pain and lots of positive energy. Then other days I wake up with a major headache at the base of my neck, aches and pains all over my body, no energy, and feeling rather beat down. Today is one of those days! I find that exercise really, really helps! But I've also found that I have to base my entisity and duration of exercise on how I feel that particular day. Some days I can't do anything more than stretch and other days I can run or lift weights or both. I think the worse part is that no matter how many "good days" I have, the "bad days" always seem to come back! My husband and I have been together for 18 years and he's put up with a lot of my complaining, but I still think he forgets how bad it can be for me some times.

So, this is only about the second time I've ever posted anything to one of these forums. It seems like the older I get, the more help I need to get through the rough spots! Just know you are most certainly NOT out here alone!!! Take care and I hope today is a good day for you!
